You started it...

In february I wrote two lengthy postings about the 60'th anniversary of the German army's defeat at Stalingrad in Russia. Also In February there was another anniversary often forgotten perhaps even ignored: The Bombing of Dresden 13/14 Feb. 1945. Dresden was a german city filled with some 500.000 wounded and refugees. The bombing was carried out by by the RAF with mainly incendiary bombs. This combined with strong wind led to a so called "firestorm" that killed an estimated 200 - 250.000 people (2002 estimate). Less than a hundred were active german army personnel.
